Dr. Bregman moved to Las Vegas from the Boston area to escape the cold weather and enjoy the desert. He completed his surgical residency training in 1996 at The Cambridge Hospital in Massachusetts which is a Harvard affiliated program.
He also completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedics and Trauma in Vilnius Lithuania during his training. While in the Boston area Dr. Bregman continued to be involved in his residency program as an attending physician and taught foot and ankle surgery to residents and students. Dr. Bregman has always been involved with academics as well as staying current with all of the latest technology and techniques available to physicians. He is published in a variety of scientific journals and lectures internationally on a variety of topics in his field of expertise. His particular area of focus is in the area of peripheral neuropathy and chronic pain from nerves.
Dr. Bregman is one of the few surgeons to be performing Endoscopic Tarsal Tunnel decompression in the country and certainly has the most experience in performing the procedure here in Nevada. He is also a micro surgeon and can help patients who have had nerve injuries at work or in an accident.
Another area of focus for Dr. Bregman is minimal incision surgery or MIS of the forefoot. This usually PAINLESS technique allows the patient to be back on their feet very quickly and back into regular shoes and activity much quicker than the standard techniques used by most surgeons.
Dr. Bregman’s philosophy is essentially “getting the patient back to regular pain-free activity in the quickest way possible that does not cause pain using the latest techniques and state of the art technology where appropriate.”
Dr. Bregman has special interests in Peripheral Neuropathy and Pediatric foot problems and has performed many successful reconstructive surgeries for flat feet and other congenital deformities, continuing to learn the latest techniques.
In his spare time Dr. Bregman enjoys spending time with his rescue greyhound “Starbuck” and also is an avid golfer. He also does some creative writing in addition to his academic writing. He is also involved in a wine company as a hobby. He enjoys cooking and considers himself to be a foodie and claims to make the best chocolate chip cookies.
