Roddy McGee, DO

Dr. McGee is an orthopedic surgeon with sub-specialty fellowship training in sports medicine. He specializes in arthroscopic and open treatment of shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle injuries. He also performs joint replacement surgery for arthritis of the shoulder, knee, and hip. In addition, he has had training in general orthopedic surgery and fracture care.

Dr. McGee is the team physician for College of Southern Nevada’s athletic programs. He is also involved with the Justin Boots Sports Medicine team which provides care for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys, the Professional Bull Riders and the National Finals Rodeo. Dr. McGee grew up in Las Vegas, NV, and then attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. There, he received a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology and also was a pitcher and outfielder on the winningest baseball team in Ute’s history

After college, he attended Midwestern University in Arizona for medical school, followed by an Orthopedic Surgery residency in Chicago. After residency, he completed a one year fellowship in sports medicine with Dr. Lawrence Lemak (www.lemaksports.com) at the American Sports Medicine Institute (www.asmi.org) in Birmingham, AL.

Dr. McGee is an adjunct professor for Touro University Nevada, is active teaching medical students and orthopedic surgery residents in training and he also serves as a reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine.

In his spare time, Dr. McGee enjoys spending time with his wife and dog.
